SMTP smuggling enables email spoofing while passing security checks

Outbound SMTP servers that don’t filter <CR>.<CR> and will allow outbound emails with this sequence inside 
include Outlook/Exchange Online, iCloud, on-premises Microsoft Exchange servers, 
Postfix, Sendmail, Startmail, Fastmail, and Zohomail.
